A Better Mocha

Before the economy tanked and before I became much more aware of what I was feeding my body a trip to Starbucks was a regular event.  It was the perfect place to meet with friends or to bring a book while I was waiting for one of my daughters' many dance classes.  I hate to even admit how much money I used to spend at Starbucks.

Now days those trips are very much less frequent but I still, sometimes, get the craving for a mocha.

After some trial and error I think I've come up with a good at home healthier substitute.

See what you think...

A Better Mocha
1 mug of strong coffee
1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder
stevia to taste
raw milk or coconut milk
While brewing the coffee mix the cocoa powder with the stevia in a small saucepan and slowly mix in the milk.  Heat until hot, but not boiling.  Pour into a mug and add the coffee.

Try this a few times and make it your own.  Some people will want more cocoa while others will want less.  Some will want more coffee and some will want more milk.  So play around with it a little.

What are some of your favorite, warm, comforting drinks?
